WXRK (92.3 MHz), known on-air as “92.3 Now FM”, is a radio station in New York City. Owned by CBS Radio, WXRK broadcasts a rhythmic-leaning Top 40 (CHR) format. The station is notable for being the flagship station of The Howard Stern Show from November 1985 to December 2005, and more recently, Opie and Anthony.

The NYPIRG chapter at SUNY College at Old Westbury was founded in 1991, and we’ve been here on campus ever since, giving students hands-on experience and training in organizing coalitions and events, gaining media attention, talking to legislators, and speaking in public.

Programming/News Department Internship September 2006 – December 2006
The Programming/News Department is responsible for the day-to-day planning and general implementation of SNY’s on-air schedule. Additionally, the department produces “Daily News Live,” and our various news shows and handles external communications with various independent program suppliers as well as internal communications with various SportsNet New York departments.
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Screening/logging taped programs & interviews to prepare for editing
- Helping Associate Producers in the edit rooms
- Working on the production of “Daily News Live” and “SportsNite” and Mets programming
- Researching for the various graphic boards used in all shows
- Screening and logging games and press conferences
- Preparing, copying, and distributing programming information
- Doing detail work to procure footage from external sources
- Sending faxes, writing letters, making phone calls, etc.
- All other duties needed in the stations everyday operation
