2008 M.A.C. AWARDS
The first annual Student Media Awards Celebration (MAC) was held on Wednesday, April 30th, in The Maguire Theater. The event went very smoothly and was a great success, thanks to the hard work by students, faculty and staff. The two guest speakers for the evening, Carol Silva of News 12 Long Island and British Journalist Gary Younge of The Nation and The Guardian served to make the night very special indeed. The 2008 Student MAC Awards were a joint production of The Catalyst student newspaper, the Visual Arts department, the Media & Communications department, the Television Club, and OWWR.

2009 Honors Convocation
The entire College community is invited to gather to celebrate the academic successes of Old Westbury’s best and brightest students at the 2009 Convocation to Honor Academic Excellence. Awards are presented from each academic department and the Division of Student Affairs. The highlight of the program is the presentation of the Old Westbury President’s Medal for Scholarship, the highest honor a student of the College can earn. Faculty are encouraged to attend dressed in their academic regalia and to participate in the processional.

2009 M.A.C. AWARDS 
The 2009 Student MAC Awards, the annual ‘end of the year’ celebration of student creativity in the media arts, will feature the best in student writing and production. Awards will be given for the best work in the following categories: Digital Arts, Radio, Television/Video, and Print. Approximately 20 awards will be given in all. All members of the campus community and the public are invited to attend.
